GP Services

The GPs practising at Medi7 Mooroolbark are trained in the general practice medicine areas listed below. Many of the doctors also have a special interest in other areas such as travel medicine, skin cancer, or children's health.

Consultations, treatments, referrals, procedures, investigations, and prescriptions.

Advice and treatment on contraception, IUD insertion and removal, sexual health, pregnancy testing, pregnancy options and advice, antenatal and obstetric shared care, pap smears, CST screening and breast checks.

Advice and treatment about concerns such as physical issues, prostate checks, sexual health and STI screening.

Children's health checks, advice and treatment. Routine & childhood immunisations including:

  • All vaccinations in the National Immunisation Program
  • Seasonal influenza
  • Hepatitis B

Health checks including physical check-ups, and tests for lifestyle concerns such as diabetes and cholesterol levels.

A comprehensive annual health check is recommended for all people aged over 75 to identify any health issues and optimise quality of life. Areas assessed may include but are not limited to lifestyle, mobility, medication, nutrition, exercise, safety in the home, care arrangements and support networks.

A comprehensive health assessment is recommended between the age of 45 and 49 to identify health issues and risks of developing a chronic disease.

A heart health check is recommended at any age to assess the condition of the heart and if there are any risks associated with developing cardiovascular disease.

Assessment and management of conditions including diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, arthritis, and chronic pain. Patients may eligible for referral to Allied health providers at a subsidised cost.

Mental health diagnosis and treatment, care plans, and referrals to counselling services.

Wound care including suturing and tissue glue.

Minor surgery including skin biopsies and excisions.

Full body skin checks, individual spot checks, minor and complex excisions.

Sick certificates for work and education, pre-employment medical assessments, insurance, and workplace injury assessments.

For work related injuries (Work Cover) or Motor Vehicle related injuries (Transport Accident Commission), patients are required to pay for their first consultation in full. Once the employer accepts liability and the patient has supplied a letter stating their claim number, and all ongoing accounts will be forwarded directly to the insurance company.
